Inclusive digital experiences

Good design is accessible, and accessibility is easiest when incorporated from the beginning. Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and Section 508 standards are just the minimum requirements. I like to take accessibility a step further and brainstorm ways to surprise and delight users regardless of how they access their digital experiences.

Accessibility Updates

I led the accessibility design updates for Digital First Editor, a content management system for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. I worked with an accessibility engineer and developers to bring the product to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 standards.

Accessibility Assessment

King County Metro

This was a project done for my master's program in Content Strategy and UX, where I learned what tools to use and how to assess the accessibility of a site or app. I also practiced navigating sites while blindfolded to gain better empathy for a visually impaired user.
