Simplifying Complicated Data
This product allowed users to choose and arrange columns in tables to self-manage what data they saw and in what order based on their needs.
The default order of columns was based on the most referenced data discovered in user research and testing.
Design Challenges and Solutions
Some of the challenges for this product were undefined criteria, no reliable source of truth for the data needed to feed the product, version control, and no automation. This was a new product, and prior to its launch, the data users needed to access were stored on Excel docs on individual machines and were often out of date. This SaaS product solved this and had robust intake and review capabilities for users to make decisions. I worked with a researcher to understand the users and the gaps this tool would fill in their daily tasks. I also worked with the product owner/SME to define user journeys and product functionalities.
